An “Eco Arts Sphere” created within a 60-acre restored tall grass prairie consisting of ethereal gestural images. The copper butterflies are to the scale of 12 times life size. The steel grasses are at a scale of 12 times life size and the woven steel chairs are a scale of 3 times life size. This change in scale was chosen to create a delightful, playful world for the viewer to enter and experience the prairie, just as a child would. This viewpoint begins a visceral conversation with the viewer on the human relationship to the grasslands, either as an adversary or as partner and protector.
An “Eco Arts Sphere” ephemeral chair, nature’s chair, made out of only prairie materials, 5 times life size. As it slowly decomposes, it is a metaphor for both the life cycle of the prairie and the slowly creeping death of the prairie if preservation does not occur.
